چکیده
Semiconcavity results have generally been obtained for optimal control problems in absence of state constraints. In this paper, we prove the semiconcavity of the value function of an optimal control problem with end-point constraints for which all minimizing controls are supposed to be nonsingular.

Necessary Conditions for Control Effort Minimization of Euler-Lagrange Systems
The L1 norm of the control vector is a suitable measure for the effort needed to control a vehicle, since, in several cases of practical interest, it can provide accurate estimate of the fuel consumption. In this paper, we address the problem of minimizing the weighted sum of the L1 norms of the control vectors of N vehicles moving in formation. Specifically, modeling each agent as a six degree...
متن کاملNumerical Solution of Optimal Control of Time-varying Singular Systems via Operational Matrices
In this paper, a numerical method for solving the constrained optimal control of time-varying singular systems with quadratic performance index is presented. Presented method is based on Bernste in polynomials. Operational matrices of integration, differentiation and product are introduced and utilized to reduce the optimal control of time-varying singular problems to the solution of algebraic ...
متن کاملNear-Optimal Controls of a Fuel Cell Coupled with Reformer using Singular Perturbation methods
A singularly perturbed model is proposed for a system comprised of a PEM Fuel Cell(PEM-FC) with Natural Gas Hydrogen Reformer (NG-HR). This eighteenth order system is decomposedinto slow and fast lower order subsystems using singular perturbation techniques that provides tools forseparation and order reduction. Then, three different types of controllers, namely an optimal full-order,a near-opti...
متن کاملMeasuring Singularity of Generalized Minimizers for Control-affine Problems
An open question contributed by Yu. Orlov to a recently published volume ”Unsolved Problems in Mathematical Systems and Control Theory”, V.D. Blondel & A. Megretski (eds), Princeton Univ. Press, 2004, concerns regularization of optimal control-affine problems. These noncoercive problems in general admit ’cheap (generalized) controls’ as minimizers; it has been questioned whether and under what ...
متن کاملConnections between Singular Control and Optimal Switching
This paper builds a new theoretical connection between singular control of finite variation and optimal switching problems. This correspondence provides a novel method for solving high-dimensional singular control problems, and enables us to extend the theory of reversible investment: sufficient conditions are derived for the existence of optimal controls and for the regularity of value functio...
